Near

You came to me

In a dream-

As you always do.

Time had passed

And I had mourned-

Believing you had flew.

I was startled

Emotions gashed-

A bleeding heart, still in love.

You held my face

Between your hands-

Granting stillness I had never dreamed of.

You kissed my lips

Trembled remembrance of home-

Joy blooming as spring gardens.

It wasn’t my intuition,

That quaked my head-

It was your apology for our parting.

Your reach for reassurance,

Sincerity crystal clear-

Calming both our blazon fears.

Before I woke,

These words I spoke-

For you my love, I will always be near.

You faded regretfully,

As the sun came up-

Cloudless skies likened to your eyes, azure.

In farewell you kissed my heart,

With tender care-

Including a promise made of future.

Sometimes you wonder if emotion expresses and transfers into the words when they sit inside you so close to the surface. 🙂

Your writing is very powerful and sincere. I feel true emotional reactions to art. I haven’t read all of your work… This longing you sometimes express is for a lost love. Is he real or some form of spiritual muse?

That means a lot to have you say that. Thank you! hugs* I have a very hard time processing and expressing emotion IRL. I think I’m as surprised as anyone that it comes through in writing, and it’s because of ‘him’.
He carefully fostered and encouraged me not to be so ‘closed off’ from myself and the world.
So yes, he is real. 🙂
He may never see my writings, and we may never cross paths again, but my writing is my way of trying to show a thank you to him.
AND of course it’s my ‘bat signal’ for him! lol
What can I say? Some might call it being delusion, but might be closer that I’m forever a hopeful(ess) romantic! 🙂

This is a really beautiful sentiment ❤ He left you with a special gift and one that will hopefully help you connect on a deeper level with another man one day. As you become more connected with these feelings through your writing, I hope they eventually transfer IRL <3:-)

Beautiful! Reminds me of a dream I had a long time ago, shortly after I’d broken up with an ex. I walked into her room, only to see a concept of myself on her trophy shelf, as she was spending time with another man. The sting is gone, but I remember how painful that was at the time.

Oh wow! Talk about lucid dreams! That would make a great mind-trip allegory. I know it’s close to home, and you said the sting is gone,… but I’m sure it might still be hard to write about.

My life is now what’s in between such visitation dreams and lucid dreams where I can bring my friend back to life. You wrote exactly what my soul feels in these dreams…oh those hugs…
