This blank sheet of paper

Object

paper
This unvarnished blank sheet of paper,
Will beckon as a candied siren’s song.
False advertising and the perfect dream maker.

She’s just like a woman with a mercurial mind.
Decides the fate of your words,
And if they are genteel, are they refined?
She promises possibilities, and she will beg your belief.
She lures by a false sense of encouragement,
Only to cover the transgressions like you would with a fig leaf.

She offers imitation hope, that only gives obstruction.
But you believe her white innocence,
And join this adulatory game of seduction.
She will lure and entice you again and again.
With the crispness of her construction,
you can’t help but be smitten.

She shamelessly sullies herself with your ink.
 You’re a vicarious participant,
But that is what she wants you to think.
Transforming to the taboo with the glided touch of a pen.
The sharpened edges cut your fingers,
Giving your sacrifice of blood every now and again.
She is judged when she is marked.
She will judge you if you are worthy.
This blank sheet of paper…  such a dirty girl,
You will kneel at her mercy.
